This millstone is among a group of monuments dedicated to members of the armed forces of The United States across the centuries, from the Revolutionary War through the Vietnam War. The compact site is freely accessible just a few yards across flat ground from Route 116/West Greenville Road with ample parking spots and a sidewalk.
The stone is embedded about one-third of its diameter in the ground and on edge. In particular, the millstone is dedicated to Scituate's Revolutionary Patriots as described on a brass plaque attached to the eastern face:
