Mountain View Town Hall is located at 321 Main Street in a brick downtown storefront. The police department also offices here.

Mountain View does not have a town website. They are governed by a Mayor/City Council form of government. Their offices are open Monday to Friday from 7:30 - 4:30. The Council meets monthly on the second Monday.

The town of Mountain View was originally a tent city named Oakdale and had a store and post office. In 1900 the town was renamed to Mountain View due to the nearby Wichita Mountains. The entire town was relocated in 1903 to its present location.
