This functioning windmill is incorporated as a design element of the Old World Florida-themed main entrance to the town square at Brownwood in The Villages, Florida. It sits at the west corner of the Meggison Road junction with State Road 44. The site is about a quarter mile south of Brownwood Paddock Square and is the southernmost entrance to Brownwood.
The 4-post tower is made from galvanized angle steel and is about 50 feet tall. Its four legs form a narrow spire above which the wheel and tail assemblies are mounted. "THE AERMOTOR CHICAGO" appears in faded black letters on the vane. Midway up the tower is a galvanized steel platform that holds a large water tank prop made from wood planks.
