The Arthur Phillip High School was established in 1825 at Parramatta, and this Victorian Gothic-styled brick building was built in 1875. The Dated section is above an arched doorway, at the base of a square tower with 'flying buttress' corners, with a substantial steeple atop. The elevated panel reads:
