Mr. Clark died only hours before his wife, and according to articles on their
Finadgrave pages, they had both been in poor health for some time. This impressive marble headstone is atypical, with the family name, "Clark", on the plinth, and split logs attached to the two sides. An open book tops the monument, and below it are the Woodmen of the World emblem, as well as the Odd Fellows emblem, with the all-seeing eye, the three links (F-L-T), and a rare skull and crossbones. The inscription reads:
W.O. Clark
Jan. 10, 1875
Feb. 8, 1918
-----
Birdie K. Clark
Sept. 12, 1885
Feb. 8, 1918
-----
A crow of life for those
who love him.
