FR "Encouragée par Leopold II, la construction du parc fut entamée en 1894 sur la butte du Champeau à l'emplacement des glacis des fortifications de la citadelle cédés à la ville de Namur en 1892. Offrant d'imprenables points de vue sur la ville et la vallée de la Meuse, le parc d'une centaine d'hectares comprend un arboretum forestier riche de plus de cent vingt-cinq essences variées comme des austria carpinifolia, pinus ponderosa, styrax japonica, betula maximowiziana… Le parc contient également des infrastructures de loisirs dont un théâtre de verdure, des jeux et un stade de plein air, siège de nombreuses manifestations culturelles. A proximité, on peut également découvrir un jardin des senteurs, ainsi qu'un jardin médiéval."
EN "Encouraged by Leopold II, the construction of the park was started in 1894 on the hill of the Champeau on the site of glacis citadel fortifications ceded to the city of Namur in 1892. Offering breathtaking views of the city and the Meuse valley, the park of a hundred hectares includes a forest arboretum rich of more than one hundred and twenty-five species such as austria carpinifolia, pinus ponderosa, styrax japonica, betula maximowiziana ... The park also contains recreational facilities including a theater of greenery, games and an outdoor stadium, seat of many cultural events. Nearby, one can also discover a garden of scents, as well as a medieval garden."
