[EN] "The castle was built late, at the end of the 13th/beginning of the 14th century. It only served as a residence for a short time. One of its inhabitants - the knight Gottfried - can still be visited today. More precisely: His high grave in the collegiate church, because the knight Gottfried died on 3 May 1335.
Mostly the castle was the official seat of a bailiff and a bailiff. In 1689 the castle was set on fire by French troops. The people of Münstereifel then liked to use stones from the castle ruins to build their own houses.
The building has been in private hands since 1984."
