This locomotive bell was originally on Pennsylvania Railroad locomotive #977, a 2-8-2 Mikado built in 1916 by the Baldwin Locomotive Works. The locomotive weighed pounds and the tender weighed 158,000 pounds.

The bell also has #1113 stamped on it in a font different from the #977. This indicates that at a later date it was used on locomotive #1113.

The bell was acquired by Arthur R. Woodward, a PRR employee, when the railroad was disposing of steam locomotive in the 1950's.

Gift of the Woodward Family
