"Neste local, em 17 de julho de 2007, occirreu a maior tragedia da aviaco civil brasiliera. Para os familiares das 199 vitimas do voo TAM JJ 3054, o solo onde esta implantado este memorial e sagrado. A realizacao desta obra resulta da vontade e empenho das familias antingidas e da iniciative da Prefeitura de Sao Paulo do homenagear aqueles que hoje brilham no ceu como estrelas e de lembrar - junto desta avores sobrevivente - que a vida e mais importante que tudo."
