This statue has been here many, many years. It was the logo of a Sinclair gas station that once stood just to the rear of the cameraman.
Sinclair used the slogan of put a Dino in your tank back then.
County of Dinosaur: Pennington County.
This was in the 40s and 50s a children's play area for customers of the station.
This was taken when my son and I took a motorcycle trip (2002) to South Dakota & Wyoming, we did 2800 miles in 8 days. A great time spent with this father and son thing. This old logo statue was for a Sinclair service station that is now a Phillips 66 station.
Most oil companies have modified their corporate emblem while undergoing reorganization or ownership changes. Sinclair's trademark has remained unchanged. With the current popularity of dinosaurs in general, the Sinclair trademark and the sales promotion items using the apatosaurus are more popular than ever.
