Adobe style building with arches over the door and two windows. Inside there is another arch. The post office remained in service here until 1984.

The building was then used by the school district (1984-1988), Police Department (1989-2000) and became part of the museum complex in 2002.

They are trying to restore the inside to the way the post office looked. The safe is still there and they found a "lookout gallery entrance" complete with steel ladder.

Post offices are constructed with enclosed observation catwalks that are used to conduct surveillance when theft is suspected. Known as lookout galleries, these catwalks are very dark and cramped, and often span several floors via straight shafts equipped with ladders.
