The department got its start in the Spring of 1956. A string of fires in the gave impetus for local action to start a fire department. With the assistance of a local Lions Club, the move to form a fire department was initiated.
Over the years, the department has continued to move forward. Updates in equipment and training have allowed the department to remain a relevant public service. Continued community support has kept the department on the cutting edge of fire protection, suppression, and prevention.
They have 2 stations now. Equipment housed at Station One are Engine #340, Engine #341, Brush Truck #342, Tanker #343, Brush Buggy #344, Engine #345, Brush Truck #346, and Support Vehicle #347.
