Am Friedhof Döbling befindet sich in Gruppe A, Nummer 15 das Grab von Hans Schmalzl. Der junge Mann war k.u.k. Seekadett und Marineflieger und starb mit nur 21 Jahren zusammen mit dem Piloten Karl Dum, als ihr Flugzeug am 07.08.1915 bei Lissa (damals Teil von Österreich-Ungarn, heute Kroatien) abstürzte. Am Grab ist ein hölzerner Propeller mit einem Eisernen Kreuz zu sehen.

At the cemetery Döbling in group A, number 15 is the grave of Hans Schmalzl. The young man was sea cadet and naval airman in the Austrian-Hungarian Army and died at the age of 21 together with the pilot Karl Dum, when their airplane crashed on 07.08.1915 near Lissa (then part of Austria-Hungary, today Croatia). At the tomb a wooden propeller with an iron cross can be seen.
