Fort Cobb Cemetery is located on State Highway 9, north of Fort Cobb. This is a well maintained area, with a scattering of mature trees. A chain link fence is located across the front of the cemetery, along the highway. Paved drives bisect the cemetery in both directions.

This cemetery has four entrances along the highway, one with an overhead arched sign. There are approximately 2960 burials here. Fort Cobb was established by the U.S. Army in 1859 in Indian Territory and named after Secretary of the Treasury, Howell Cobb. It was occupied by both Southern and Northern forces during the Civil War. The fort was abandoned in 1869, in favor of Ft. Sill, 30 miles to the south.
