Glenn and Vona (Pinkston) Rogers were long time residents of Hinton. Glenn was born 5/15/1915 and died 6/30/2007. Vona Pinkston was born 4/1/1916 and died 1/10/2005. They were married in 1939.

This pecan tree is planted near the park's picnic pavilion. The plaque nearby reads:
