This is an interesting and modern-designed Firehouse, with a very large radius-curved corrugated iron roof on a tan-painted brick-walled building with a truss supported verandah for the entry to the office area. There are two large panel-lift doors with some perspex panels, for the two vehicle bays, with a single steel bollard between them.
A large concrete apron at the front reaches to the bitumen road; whilst at the back of the building a tall wooden pole is used to hang the used fire hoses to drain them.
This Firehouse is manned by Retained Firefighters: "Retained Firefighters are not rostered on duty at the station but employed to respond to emergency incidents when notified by pager or mobile phone call... [they] must reside near this fire station and have some weekday daytime availability to respond to emergency calls to be considered for employment." (
