This is best found when heading down the Blue Mountains, to Penrith. The coordinates are for a place to pull over for the photograph, but the sign is on the other side of the highway.
Hazelbrook is another suburb of the city of Blue Mountains that straddles the Great Western Highway and the western railway line. It is about 20 km east of Katoomba, and 85 km west of Sydney. There are numerous waterfalls to explore, as there is still enough elevation off of the plateau to have some cliffs where the small rivers and streams flow over the edge. It is believed that name of the community came from the naming of the railway station when it came through in 1884, from a cottage owned by Edward Higgs, built in the 1870's; which took its name from Hazel Brook, a stream in the area.
