The St. Anthony Catholic School began in 1907 by concerned parents in the Monte Vista/Laurel Heights area wanting a parochial Catholic school for their children's education. The St. Anthony Catholic School has always taught elementary education levels but for a short time in its history it did include a high school program. At the time of this posting, the school offers: early childhood development (K3 & K4); elementary school classes (K-5th); and middle school classes (6th-8th).
From 1907 through 1985, the Sisters of the Divine Providence order operated the school. However, in 1985, a group of parents and alumni formed a nonprofit organization and purchased the school. The school continues to thrive, passing its 100th anniversary of serving the educational needs of the private school's student body. Several athletic programs are offered for the upper level grades. Meal plans are offered as well as an optional extended day programs that provides for students from end of school day until 6:00pm.
