This was one of the coolest beach areas I have ever seen. I don't know the history as to how so many trees were uprooted (many of them large trees with massive root systems), but I imagine it had to have been during a hurricane. I would have titled this the "Spooky Forest" or "The Tree Maze" since it is truely a maze to walk under, around and through these trees. It is also amazing that sand has covered some of the downed branches, which makes those branches look like they have separated from the tree, when in fact they are still attached. Truely an awesome display of driftwood!
