Groundspeak Premium Memberntpayne visited Isis Lock
Visited on our narrowboat Chalkhill Blue whilst cruising the network of canals and rivers in England and Wales. There are over 2,000 miles and 1,500 locks that we can cruise on our boat and we have now been on most of the system!

This is lock 46 on the Oxford canal, known as Isis lock. It is the first lock reached once leaving the River Thames by the southern entrance to the Oxford canal through Sheepwash Channel. The canal also links with the River Thames via Duke's Cut and lock number 44B.

Even though this is in the centre of the city many people don't realise there is a canal at this point. It means a walk along the canal from here northwards through Jericho rather tranquil at any time of year.
