I just visited this location yesterday. I have good memories of
this Burger Chef. I worked there in my junior and senior high
school years. The site is grown over, but as noted in previous
posts, much of the tile floor is still there, along with the
concrete block base for the outside sign and the surrounding
asphalt parking lot. I was able to stand almost exactly where I
remember the chain for cooking the burgers was located (on the left
looking out over the counter), and the frying vats which were on
the right side. I did pick up a few tiles to take with me. The
original store owner/manager was Bruce Brown. Among other
classmates, Butch (Robert) C. worked food prep with me, while
sisters Kathy and Susan L. were our friendly cashiers, just to name
a few. We had a lot of fun working there.
