Self Guided Walks and Trails come in many shapes and sizes.  There purpose is usually to convey some knowledge, either in the form of interpretive signs or brochures that accompany a numbered path.   These walks can be historical in nature, or describe geology and plants. Some can be as short as 0.5 miles, or as long as 4 miles or more.

The purpose of this Category is to Waymark the start of these Walks and Trails.

Instructions for Posting a Self Guided Walks and Trails Waymark:
Self Guided Nature Trails and Historic Walks are the main focus of this Category, but there may be some leniency as long as the basic principle of "Self Guided" is followed.

In general though, the Self Guided Trail or Walk should be educational.
Instructions for Visiting a Waymark in this Category:
A picture at the start of the Trail or Walk is greatly appreciated. Additional photos taken during the course of the walk would also be of great benefit.

If there does not appear to be a defined beginning to the trail or walk, pick a logical place (e.g. close to parking) or where information about the walk or trail can be gathered.
