Description:: This category is for "sit-by-me", "stand-by-me", other interact with me statues.

Expanded Description:

We are looking for statues that are designed to be interacted with. Whether you are filling a missing component of the statue or sharing the experience designed to be presented is a suitable listing for inclusion. This is not meant to be a category for simply being photographed with a statue, as that is not interacting with the statue. It should be obvious that the statue also appears to be interacting with you at the same time.

"Sit-by-me" statues are statues where the character is sitting on a bench with space for a person to sit next to it. "Stand-by-me" statues are often groups of statues with a space between them for a person to stand. "Stand-by-me" statues typically will not be on pedestals.
These statues are located in many locations. The statue may be of a well known historical person, a fictional character, an animal or inanimate props designed to interact with while sitting, standing or lying next to them. This category will be most fun when people actively engage and interact with the statues and the statues interact with the people...so have FUN!!

NOTE:

No mass produced "statues" such as those commonly found by or in restaurant chains will be allowed.

Other statues which may of a commercial nature but retain "uniqueness" will be allowed.

Interacting with statues that are not designed for that purpose will not be allowed, for example rubbing the nose of the Lincoln statue (Springfield, IL) though commonly done is not the intent of this category.

Busts will not be approved as in general they are not interactive even though a person can pose by them that is not considered interactive for this category.

Simply posing next to a statue is not sufficient to be included in the category. The intent is interaction not posing.

If waymarking alone it is best to use camera timer or involve another person to get the proper interaction photo. Trying to take photo with camera at arms length will usually not result in a good interaction photograph.

Earlier approved submissions should not be viewed as precedence for later submissions. The category requirements have been refined as to what is expected of submissions to the category.

Instructions for Posting a Sit-by-me Statues Waymark:

* Accurate coordinates of the statue location.
* Photo of the statue with person sitting on bench next to statue, standing next to the statue or other-wise interacting appropriately with the statue (face of person does not need to show). The person who is interacting should be a person the waymarker knows or has requested to interact with the sculpture. No random stranger photos, the intent of this category is to have the waymarker or people with him to interact with the sculpture.
Just posing next to the statue is not considered interacting!
If there is no interaction your Waymark will be returned for correction
