Mark sites along the Civil War Discovery Trail as identified by the Civil War Preservation Trust.
Expanded Description:
The Civil War Discovery Trail was established to enhance the understanding of the Civil War and its enduring impact. Sites are specially selected for their historic significance and the educational opportunities afforded. Sites along the trail include battlefields, stops along the Underground Railroad, old homes, museums, parks and other sites which bring history to life. For a waymark to be listed in this category the site must be listed by the Civil War Preservation Trust as a site on the Civil War Discovery Trail; North Carolina Civil War Discovery Trail or on the Virginia Civil War Discovery Trail
Instructions for Posting a Civil War Discovery Trail Sites Waymark:
Post a picture of the entry sign to the site if there is one. The coordinates should be at the sign or main entry to the site.

Post at least one other picture featuring a Civil War related item or scene. Coordinates should be listed in the picture's description if significantly different from the main waymark's coordinates.

The title for the waymark must match the site name listed on the Civil War Discovery Trail, North Carolina Civil War Discovery Trail or on the Virginia Civil War Discovery Trail At least one picture must be posted on the Waymark's facing page.

Instructions for Visiting a Waymark in this Category:
Post at least one photo of a Civil War related item or scene and post one Civil War Discovery you learned while visiting the waymark. The photo should have the coordinates of where it was taken if significantly different from the waymark's coordinates.
