This overlooks the site of the old Jungleland Park. "Leo" the MGM Lion is buried on the former Jungleland property, where the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza now stands. The park closed its doors for good in October of 1969.

A closed Christmas-themed amusement park located in Sky Forest, a tiny San Bernandino mountain community near the ski resort of Lake Arrowhead. Santa’s Village opened on Memorial Day weekend, 1955 over a month before the opening of Disneyland.

Urbanist now lists the Old Griffith LA Zoo among seven amazing American urban abandonment zoo. Unfortunately, fire damage blocked paths to and from the WPA renovated structures and, for now, the city insists the the Old Zoo is closed to the public.

Crescent Park was open from 1886-1979. The Crescent Park Carousel Commission still operates the 105 year old masterpiece of Charles I.D. Looff.

These pieces of concrete are from the suspension brdge that once spanned 14 Mile Creek to take vistors to the Rose Island Amusement Park. The park was destroyed by the 1937 flood of the Ohio River.

San Fernando Valley had a theme park that is now gone. All that remains today is the bridge for the theme park’s monorail & pedestrian walk over the Southern Pacific railroad tracks that connected the original gardens to the five acre expansion.

Ancient America was built surrounding a real Indian burial mound. Today, the mound is still visible within the Boca Marina & Yacht Club neighborhood on U.S. 1 near Yamato Road.

Sadly closed in 1987. Located near Scranton, Pennsylvania. The Rocky Glen amusement park was conceived and built by Arthur Frothingham in 1886 in Moosic. The park was a popular recreational venue.

As early as 1902, there was a dance hall and some unnamed rides at Winnipeg Beach. A carousel, a roller coaster and many more attractions were added in the next few years. In 1919, the "Giant" roller coaster was added.
