There are no visible remains of Fort Townshend which overlooked St. John's Harbour and formed a central part of the 18th-century British defence network, consisting of forts and smaller batteries strategically positioned throughout the area.

This plaque has been placed in front of historic St. Paul's Anglican Church in Trinity, itself a historically designated landscape. Reverend Clinch was a medical pioneer who introduced a vaccine for smallpox.

This plaque dedicated to the life of Joey Smallwood is found in front of the province's House of Assembly (legislature). Joey Smallwood negotiated the terms of Newfoundland's entry into Canada in 1949. He was provincial premier for 33 years.
