A relatively small brick building squeezed between a couple of larger neighbours, most who pass by would never become aware of this building's history or its historical value.

If the Knights of Columbus of Butte, Montana were to celebrate the centennial exactly on its 100th birthday, then this building would be 99 years, 11 months and 28 days old as I write this.

A long, narrow building n a corner lot, the Neithammer Brothers doubtless thought they had the perfect spot for a butcher shop. If s, they were right, as a butcher shop operated from this building until 1970.

A flashy pink brick building, this is appropriate as it is now occupied by "Flash's" a photography studio with the flashiest neon sign on the block. Not primary, this is simply a contributing building to this district.

Another building with a sandstone parapet, this one still legible. Below that parapet is some nice brick corbelling as well as chain brickwork above the upper windows. Below the windows is a stone sill connecting the two. Altogether, a nice façade.

Built circa 1905, the building has a rusticated sandstone parapet in which was carved the name and date of the building. Sandstone, being quite soft, was a less than brilliant choice of material as the inscriptions have become nearly unreadable.

As of 2014 the Elks had inhabited their building for a century. Though it certainly doesn't show it, this really is a 100 year old building. Designed by Billings architect C. C. Oehme in the bungalow style, it has the look of a much newer building.

Carbon County was created on March 4, 1895 from portions of Park and Yellowstone counties. Given that this courthouse wasn't built until 1899, it is likely that it wasn't the county's first courthouse. To date, it is the last one, though.
