Description:
Locate the resting place of one of approximately 3400 Americans who have received the nations highest award for valor: The Medal of Honor.
Expanded Description:
The final resting place of a recipient of the Medal of Honor.
Instructions for Posting a Medal Of Honor Resting Places Waymark:
Find the final resting place of a recipient of the Medal of Honor and post the coordinates along with a photograph of the grave marker. No GPS or people should be in the photo. Do not place anything on the grave when taking the photo.

(if it can be shown that the recipient's body was never recovered, or was buried at sea or is otherwise inaccessible, e-mail group leader with proof of this fact for approval prior to posting the waymark entry)
No memorial markers*; therefore, photographs must be of the final resting place of the recipient of the medal.

Waymark titles should include the recipients name. Rank and location are optional. Any waymarks referring to recipients as "Winners" will be declined or edited. The Medal of Honor is earned and awarded, it is not won as if some type of lottery.

Include the Medal of Honor citation in your description. These are available at (visit link)

Do not refer to the Medal of Honor as the Congressional Medal of Honor, that is a common misnomer and is not correct.

George E. Day, Sr. enlisted in the Marines at age seventeen in 1942. In 1950, he joined the Air National Guard. When he was called up for active duty a year later, he applied for pilot training and flew fighter jets during the Korean War. After being promoted to captain in 1955, he decided to become a "lifer" in the Air Force.
