additional search options
This category is all about meeting other Waymarkers. The challenge will be arranging a meeting time and place, and using the distinctive Waymarking Sticker as a focal point, share a Photo Opportunity!
To list a new Waymark you will need to acquire an official Waymarking Sticker, as illustrated at Groundspeak Store. Fill in the blank box with your Alias or the WM code number or both. Copies or facsimiles are not acceptable substitutes, only official Waymarking Stickers.
For the Default Image you should include your sticker but you may "photoshop" your own image provided that it includes a reasonable facsimile of a Waymarking Sticker, and you MUST include an extra image of your official sticker for proof of ownership.
The name of your Waymark listing must include your Groundspeak Alias (as examples "Jeremy" or "OpinioNate") which also means you can only have one entry in this category.
You can use any coordinates you like, but you should use something that makes it easy for others to seek you out. Using local coordinates for a general searching will add to your success.
You should affix your Waymark Sticker to a semi-permanent item that you can easily relocate. Putting it into a picture frame works well, as does a firm surface of similar size. Remember that you may need to move it around with you. If you do affix it to a permanent location, you will need to meet fellow Waymarkers at the listed coordinates for Visiting requirements.
DO NOT AFFIX STICKERS TO LOCATIONS THAT YOU DO NOT OWN OR HAVE PERMISSION TO DO SO!!!
Sit back and wait for people to contact you to make arrangements to meet you. Carry your Waymark Sticker to Events and encourage people to log a Visit!
As a suggestion for your visit log, please make every effort to supply a brief-to-detailed note about your experience at the Waymark. If possible also include an image that was taken when you visited the Waymark. Images can be of yourself, a personal Waymarking signature item or just one of general interest that would be of value to others. Sharing your experience helps promote Waymarking and provides a dynamic history of your adventures.
