Built in 1893, this was the first brick edifice owned by Mary Gleim to house her “female boarding house”. She sold this building in 1903 but continued in operation in Gleim Building II until 1916 when the city made her profession a no-no.

This Art Moderne Hotel opened in 1941 and was the third attempt at building a Florence Hotel on this site. The first two, built in 1881 and 1913, burned in 1913 and 1936, respectively. This Florence Hotel has, to date, escaped a similar fate.

The Milwaukee Line was the final transcontinental railroad completed and when it arrived in Missoula it built a large and impressive depot. Built in 1910 of brick and stone, it was built to impress and this it accomplished handily.

Built in 1909 well south of the central residential area, this house was somewhat of a local oddity, as cast concrete blocks were employed in its construction. Though common elsewhere, this was a material much less often used in Missoula.

Designed by A. J. Gibson and completed in 1902, this was one of several hotels built in that era to supply housing for the burgeoning town of Missoula. It was the arrival of the second railroad which induced large scale immigration to the city.

Built by a Republican, Joseph Dixon, and a Democrat, Asa L. Duncan, this 1887 commercial building was the product of the partnership of a pair of Missoula lawyers. The Republican, Joseph Dixon, went on to become Governor of Montana from 1921 to 1925.

Ostensibly designed by a ship's carpenter, this church's cornerstone was laid in June of 1884. It has been used for services ever since, making it Montana's oldest Catholic church in continuous use. It has held up well for a wood frame building.

Granite County came into existence in 1893 and by 1896 was the proud owner of this sturdy brick jailhouse and sheriff's office. Well able to stand the test of time, the building is, 118 years later, still the Granite County Jail & Sheriff's Office.
