The FindAGrave entry for Frances Proctor has a 20 April 2006 biographical entry from her obituary. That information is copied here because of a category requirement. However, please note that FindAGrave information often has to be corrected, so you should compare the following with the linked entry.
Frances E. Proctor, 104, of Boulder, Colorado, formerly of Cassville and Wheaton, died yesterday, April 20, at Boulder Manor in Boulder, Colorado.
Mrs. Proctor was born March 24, 1902, in the state of Missouri. She was a licensed practical nurse and worked for home care. She moved to Boulder, Colorado, in 1998.
She married James Proctor, and he preceded her in death in 1945.
Survivors include one grandchild and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Vivian and Christine.
There are two interesting things immediately obvious from Mrs. Proctor's grave marker:
- When the grave marker was made after her husband's death, the entry for her name was added at that time, along with the first two digits of the millenium in which she expected to pass on: 19; so that only the last two digits for the year would have to be added. Since she lived longer than expected, until 2006, the artisan had to fill in the 19, and etch 20 over it.
- Both her husband, James Elzy Proctor, and Frances lived lives that crossed centuries, but they were two different centuries! Thus, their lives represented 3 different centuries: the 19th, the 20th, and the 21st.
